With each passing day the the number of people affected by cancer has been on the steep rise and their are a very few instances where these cases are detected earlier. World No Tobacco Day

The May 31 is observed as No Tobacco Day worldwide. Come Tuesday, those advocating the no tobacco would have a reason to mark the day with their cause; prevent the tobacco from reaching to peoples' hands. The World Health Organisation too holds events globally to get the message across to the global populace. Over the years the number of cancer patinets have seen a steep rise. Only a concerted team effort against the disease can trigger results.

Celebrities too succumb to the dreaded disease...

Pic. for representation only: Noted author Mala Sen who could not endure the fight against cancer died recently while she was under cure for the dreaded disease at the TATA Memorial Cancer Hospital in Mumbai. She has become another victim died while standing the fight.
Noted writer Mala Sen who brought the Phoolan Devi popularly known as Bandit Queen to the limelight has died. She lived in London before the death overpowered her fight against the Cancer. She lived in London and to seek cure for cancer, moved to Mumbai. But like many others who cannot defeat the death, she too succumbed and said the final adieu to the world.
A few years back model-turned-actress Lisa Ray too was diagnosed with cancer. But for Lisa, life has something more to offer. Lisa won the battle against cancer. The need of the hour is that people irrespective of their caste, creed or religion and above all the class should come forward to accelerate the fight against cancer. Unite and help mobilise the manpower and the resources to defeat the occurrence of cancer.

Breast Cancer risk could be reduced by Asian spice

Previous studies have found that postmenopausal women who have taken a combined estrogen and progestin hormone replacement therapy have increased their risk of developing progestin-accelerated breast tumors. Now, University of Missouri researchers have found that curcumin, a popular Indian spice derived from the turmeric root, could reduce the cancer risk for women after exposure to hormone replacement therapy.

Exercise can reduce the chances of attracting cancer

Women cancer patients are more prone to trauma...

Indian alone has more than 2.5 million persons afflicted by Cancer. Out of these a large chunk of the affected are women who face social trauma in every sphere of life. Everyday as per an estimate more than five lac cancer patients die around the world ending the dreaded disease up at the top slot of the list of most killing diseases of the world.
Women are no exception. They are affected by the cancer of cervix and the mammary glands, two organs which play a very important part in reproduction and nursing a child after reproducing it respectively. The very basic function of a female is to reproduce which gets threatened due to the dreaded disease.
Mobilising resources can help the early detection of cancer, which later on requires proper funding; as most of the patients come from rural and poor background. Let's join hands and help the poor and enable them fight the cancer.

The rural India more susceptible to cancer...

Unfortunately there are not pro active oganisations active in the villages leaving the villagers without any proper guidence and cure.
 A recent study has revealed that the smoking bidis is more dangerous than smoking cigarettes. The study published in the recent issue of Mumbai based newspaper Daily News and Analysis explores the ill effects of bidis on humna health. The bidi smoking also affects drastically the passive smokers. Large chunk of the rural populace smokes bidis exposing them more to the dreaded disease. Urban areas have a number of organisations and NGOs working in the field of tobacco control. Unfortunately the rural areas don't have such groups which can help eradicate cancer by curbing the number of people smoking bidis

Let's take oath to shunn tobacco on World No Tobacco Day

The dreaded disease has affected more than 2.8 million people in India alone. To make the scenario worst, the instances of Head and Neck Cancer have seen a steep rise in the recent past too. The World Health Organisation has been active and exhorting through various media the masses to stop the use of tobacco.
Every year the last day of May is observed as World Anti Tobacco Day. Organisations saying no to tobacco use take it upon themselves the duty to prevent the people falling into the dreaded hands of cancer. Cancer Aid and Research Foundation works day in and day out to reach out to the masses, particularly the youth, entangled in the tobacco addiction. It is estimated that around the world the tobacco use has found more than 20 million people as its victims. In India alone the figure of tobacco victim exceeds the figure in any other country. More than 2.8 million tobacco users have become victim to the cancer. As per another estimate the number is rising sharply. Cancer Aid and Research Foundation has tied up with a few musical groups to hold an awareness-cum-musical event on May 31; World Anti Tobacco Day. CARF, the famous acronym for the NGO, appeals to the people, those who have been affected and those who want to help CARF in any capacity to join hands with the NGO. Come join us to stop the smoke reaching our homes so that our children are protected from it. Or wait till it evolves into a smog and hovers over our roofs endangering our very existence.
